13YARN [Thirteen YARN] is the first national crisis support line for mob who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping. We offer a confidential one-on-one yarning opportunity with a Lifeline-trained Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporter who can provide crisis support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 13YARN empowers our community with the opportunity to yarn without judgement and provide a culturally safe space to speak about their needs, worries or concerns.

If you, or someone you know, are feeling worried or no good, we encourage you to connect with 13YARN on 13 92 76 (24 hours/7 days) and talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporter.

1800RESPECT is the national sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling service.

We provide support for people experiencing, or at the risk of experiencing, violence and abuse, their friends, family, and professionals.

1800RESPECT: Daisy App

Daisy is an app developed by 1800RESPECT to connect people experiencing violence or abuse to services in their local area. Daisy can be downloaded for free from iTunes or Google Play. Once the app is on your phone, you can use it to search for support services in your local area. Choose the type of service you would like (for example ‘Legal services’ or ‘Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services’) and select your state or territory to find services near you. 

You can visit service websites from within the app, which means these sites won’t show up in your browser history. This can help protect your privacy, especially if another person has access to your phone. Each listing includes information about opening times, how to get in touch and the services they offer.

1800RESPECT: Sunny App

Sunny is 1800RESPECT’s app for women with disability who have experienced violence and abuse. Sunny has been co-designed with women with disability to make sure it provides the very best support for the people who use it.

Ability Technology

Ability Technology’s mission is to increase the independence and productive potential of people with a disability, through the use of computer and related technology. We do this by linking people with a disability to special devices, software and services that will enable them to use a computer comfortably and effectively. We have technical, occupational therapy and research staff in our multi-disciplinary team.

We also specialise in environmental (home) control technology, to enable people with a disability to control the phone, TV, lights, doors, fans, heaters and other devices.

ABMDR Australian Bone Marrow Registry

ABMDR is a public company limited by guarantee under the Australian Corporations Law and a registered charity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012 (Cth).

We are the only organisation in Australia responsible for arranging bone marrow/blood stem cell donations for patients in need of a transplant. ABMDR also administers government funding of  public cord blood banks in Australia.

ABMDR is funded by the Commonwealth, State and Territory governments.

Aboriginal Housing Information Service

The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to affordable, quality housing.

The AHO is governed by an all-Aboriginal Board, which provides advice to the Minister for Planning, and Minister for Homes on Aboriginal housing issues in NSW.

The AHO is funded by the NSW and Australian governments to administer the state’s Aboriginal community housing assets.

Aboriginal Legal Service NSW/ACT

Today the ALS is made up of over 200 staff across 24 offices throughout NSW and the ACT. The ALS does legal work in Criminal law, children’s Care and Protection law and Family law. We assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, women and children through representation in court, advice and information, and referral to further support services.

ACI: Home Enteral Nutrition Resources for Consumers

Home enteral nutrition (HEN) is the giving of nutritional support either by mouth or by a feeding tube into the gastrointestinal tract in the home setting. People requiring nutritional support at home face a number of difficulties accessing clinical services, formula and equipment.

Active and Healthy

Staying physically active is the single most important thing you can do to stay fit and independent, as you get older. Age is no barrier, research shows that exercise, at any age, is worth the effort. If you are in any doubt about exercise, please talk to your doctor.

This website can help you find an exercise program in your local area and provides information and tools that can assist you to increase your physical activity.

Active Kids

The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the Active Kids program.

The Active Kids program provides 2 x $100 vouchers for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs each year.

Voucher 1 is valid January to December and Voucher 2 is valid July to December.

The vouchers may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities.

To use a voucher, find a registered activity provider and present your voucher when you sign up.

Advance Care Planning AustraliaTM is a national program funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, enabling Australians to make the best choices for their future health and care. 

AFAO: Better to Know

Better to Know is a sexual health resource for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It provides information about common sexually transmitted infections (STIs), what to do if you have an STI and where to get tested. It contains information that deals with both men’s and women’s business.

Agency for Clinical Innovation

We are the lead agency for innovation in clinical care in NSW. We bring patients, clinicians and managers together to support the design and implementation of innovation in healthcare.

AgHealth Australia

AgHealth Australia is based at Dubbo in central-west New South Wales. It is a research activity group within the School of Rural Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney. 

AgHealth has been leading research in relation to injury and deaths on Australian farms for 30 years. AgHealth works with partners such as Farmsafe Australia to ensure the research conducted is turned into practical programs to assist farmers, their workers, families and the rural community. Translation of the research information has led to the development of programs of work that in conjunction with industry and relevant organisations, has contributed to major reductions in the burden of injury and poor health in rural Australia.
