Welcome to Love Talk Sing Read Play, this site has been developed by parents who are health workers, for parents who want to have the latest evidence based information on children’s emotional and social development. The information is told through the stories of Jack and his friends which we hope will be interesting and offer you ideas and tips that you can relate to your children.

Macular Disease Foundation Australia

Macular Disease Foundation Australia is the national peak body representing the interests of the 8.5m Australians living with or at risk of macular disease and their families.

Multicultural HIV and Hepatitis Service

The Multicultural HIV and Hepatitis Service (MHAHS) works with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in NSW to improve health and well-being in relation to HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

The service works with more than 20 language groups and implements a range of health promotion, community development and media initiatives, as well as offering individual assistance to people living with HIV.

Multicultural NSW

Multicultural NSW provides high-quality, professional and efficient interpreting and translation services. Our fully accredited interpreters speak more than 100 languages and our translation services are available across more than 100 Service NSW centres in NSW.

My Health Record

My Health Record is an online summary of your key health information.

When you have a My Health Record, your health information can be viewed securely online, from anywhere, at any time – even if you move or travel interstate.

When you’re visiting a GP for a check-up, or in an emergency room following an accident and are unable to talk, healthcare providers involved in your care can access important health information.

National Auslan Booking and Payment Service

NABS is the National Auslan Interpreter Booking and Payment Service.

We provide interpreters to Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people who use sign language.

National Redress Scheme

The National Redress Scheme provides support to people who experienced institutional child sexual abuse.

The Scheme:

  • acknowledges that many children were sexually abused in Australian institutions
  • holds institutions accountable for this abuse, and
  • helps people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse gain access to counselling, a direct personal response, and a Redress payment.

The Scheme started on 1 July 2018 and will run for 10 years.

National Relay Service

If you are deaf and/or find it hard hearing or speaking with people who use a phone, the National Relay Service (NRS) can help you.

  • A call through the NRS lets you communicate with a hearing person who is using a phone even if you can’t hear or don’t use your voice.
  • The NRS has specially trained staff called Relay Officers who help with every call.
  • Depending on the type of call, a Relay Officer will change voice to text or text tovoice and AUSLAN to English or English to AUSLAN.
  • Relay officers stay on the line throughout each call to help it go smoothly, but don’t change or get in the way of what is being said.
  • Except for calls made through Video Relay, the NRS is available 24 Hours a day, every day.
  • Depending on your hearing and speech, and equipment you have, you can choose from one or more relay call types.

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency. Our role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.

NSW Ageing and Disability Commission

The purpose of the NSW Ageing and Disability Commission is to:

  • raise community awareness to reduce and prevent abuse, neglect and exploitation of older people and adults with disability
  • receive and respond to reports or allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation of an older person or adult with disability
  • provide support and information to those at need
  • run an investigation (if required)
  • report and advise the government on related systemic issues.

NSW Government Office of Sport

The Office of Sport is the lead NSW Government agency for sport and active recreation. The Office of Sport aims to increase the levels of physical activity of the people of NSW by providing the leadership, policies, programs, funding and infrastructure necessary to enable higher rates of participation in sport and active recreation.

Official Visitors Program

Official Visitors are people with experience in mental health treatment and care. They are appointed by the Minister for Mental Health and are independent from NSW Health.
