Australian Child and Adolescent Trauma, Loss and Grief Network (ACATLGN)

The Australian Child and Adolescent Trauma, Loss and Grief Network (ACATLGN) is a network that works with a team of experts to bring together evidence-based resources and research. We make them more accessible to those working with, or interested in, children and young people who have been affected by trauma and grief.

Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care

The Commission works in partnership with patients, carers, clinicians, the Australian, state and territory health systems, the private sector, managers and healthcare organisations to achieve a safe, high-quality and sustainable health system.

Key functions of the Commission include: developing national safety and quality standards, developing clinical care standards to improve the implementation of evidence-based health care, coordinating work in specific areas to improve outcomes for patients, and providing information, publications and resources about safety and quality.

The Commission works in four priority areas:

  • patient safety
  • partnering with patients, consumers and communities
  • quality, cost and value
  • supporting health professionals to provide care that is informed, supported and organised to deliver safe and high-quality care.

Australian Digital Health Agency

When it comes to improving the health of all Australians, the role of digital innovation and connection is a vital part of a modern, accessible healthcare system. We seek to understand new and different ways to improve delivery and performance for digital health.

Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations

As the peak national organisation for Australia’s community HIV response, AFAO (the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations) is recognised both globally and nationally for the leadership, policy expertise, health promotion, coordination and support we provide.

Through advocacy, policy and health promotion, we champion awareness, understanding and proactivity around HIV prevention, education, support and research. AFAO provides a voice for communities affected by HIV and leads the national conversation on HIV.

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works with the 15 National Boards to help protect the public by regulating Australia’s registered health practitioners. Together, our primary role is to protect the public and set standards and policies that all registered health practitioners must meet. Each Board has a health profession agreement with Ahpra that sets out fees, budget and the services provided by Ahpra.

Australian Immunisation Handbook

The Australian Immunisation Handbook provides clinical advice for health professionals on the safest and most effective use of vaccines in their practice.

Australian Immunisation Register

The Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) is a national register that records vaccines given to all people in Australia.

The AIR includes vaccines given:

  • under the National Immunisation Program
  • through school programs
  • privately, such as for flu or travel.

Lifeblood is funded by Australian governments to provide life-giving blood, plasma, transplantation and biological products for world-leading health outcomes.

Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy

ASCIA’s purpose is to advance the science and practice of allergy and clinical immunology.

This is achieved by promoting the highest standard of medical practice, training, education and research, to improve the quality of life and health of people with immune system disorders.  These include allergies, immunodeficiencies and other immune diseases.

Australian Venom Research Unit

AVRU’s primary goal is to live up to our Mission Statement and become a centre of excellence in the Asia-Pacific Region for innovative and strategic research and information analysis on the neglected problem of envenoming by venomous animals, cultivating dynamic collaborative relationships and producing outcomes which benefit human health, well-being and development.

Black Dog Institute

As the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.

We do this through ‘translational’ research. Integrating our research studies, education programs, digital tools and apps, clinical services, and public resources to discover new solutions, foster connections and create real-world change.

Our partnerships with people with lived experience, federal, state and local governments, communities, schools, corporate Australia and others in the mental health sector enables us to drive evidence-informed change in mental health where it’s needed most.

Breast Screen NSW

One in nine women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. The best time to treat breast cancer is when it is still very small. Screening mammograms are the best way of finding breast cancer early.

Breastfeeding Helpline

Available 7 days a week on 1800 686 268. Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) counsellors are trained volunteers who provide counselling and breastfeeding information to any person seeking their help. All ABA counsellors have breastfed at least one baby for at least nine months.

Butterfly changes lives by providing innovative, evidence-based support services, treatment and resources, delivering prevention and early intervention programs and advocating for the needs of our community.

Cancer Australia

Cancer Australia was established by the Australian Government in 2006 to benefit all Australians affected by cancer, and their families and carers. Cancer Australia works to reduce the impact of cancer and improve the well-being of those diagnosed by ensuring that evidence informs cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and supportive care.

Cancer Council

As Australia’s peak national non-government cancer control organisation, Cancer Council Australia advises the Australian Government and other bodies on practices and policies to help prevent, detect and treat cancer. We also advocate for the rights of cancer patients for best treatment and supportive care.

Cancer Institute NSW

We collect and use the latest cancer data, information and evidence to drive improvements in cancer outcomes. We are the largest funder of cancer research in the state, with a focus on the translation of research findings into clinical practice.

The Institute works with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver initiatives and programs that reduce the impact of cancer on our community.

Canrefer Cancer Referral Network

Canrefer is an online cancer services directory for residents of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. It lists specialists, hospitals and services that provide diagnosis and treatment for people suspected of or diagnosed with cancer. Canrefer is administered by the Cancer Institute NSW.

Canteen

Canteen is the only organisation in Australia dedicated to providing tailored support for young people impacted by cancer.

Care for kids ears

Care for Kids’ Ears helps parents, carers, teachers, teachers’ aides, early childhood workers and health professionals recognise and prevent ear disease in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
