Beachsafe

Beachsafe is brought to you by Surf Life Saving Australia as part of our ongoing commitment to education and safety in the aquatic environment.

The site includes current information and conditions for every beach in Australia. It shows patrol services, hazards and facilities as well as weather, swell and tide details. Beachsafe is designed to help you choose the right beach for your needs, so you can relax and enjoy your visit.

Staying safe and making the most of the coast requires knowledge and skills. The Surf Ed section of this website will help you learn about the beach, the science of the surf and the creatures in our oceans as well as surf skills and first aid. It’s all about helping you to enjoy our beautiful coast.

Better Health Channel

We provide health and medical information to improve the health and wellbeing of people and the communities they live in. This information is:

  • quality-assured and reliable
  • up-to-date
  • locally relevant
  • easy to understand.

The information on our site aims to help people understand and manage their health and medical conditions. It does not replace care provided by medical practitioners and other qualified health professionals.

We are fully funded by the Victorian Government, with no commercial advertising or corporate sponsorship.

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue works with the community to improve mental health and prevent suicide, so that all people in Australia can achieve their best possible mental health.

Through our Beyond 2020 Strategy, we are working across three strategic priorities:

Promoting mental health and wellbeing so people have greater knowledge, feel safe to talk openly about their issues and are supported to ask for help when they need to.

Being a trusted source of information, advice and support so we can all better understand how to maintain our mental health and take steps to recover from mental health conditions.

Working together to prevent suicide by playing a lead role in the national effort to prevent suicide through research, information, advice and support, and advocacy.

Black Dog digital tools and apps

Online tools and mobile apps for your mental health and wellbeing developed and successfully tested through research trials that you can access anywhere at no cost.

Black Dog Institute

As the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.

We do this through ‘translational’ research. Integrating our research studies, education programs, digital tools and apps, clinical services, and public resources to discover new solutions, foster connections and create real-world change.

Our partnerships with people with lived experience, federal, state and local governments, communities, schools, corporate Australia and others in the mental health sector enables us to drive evidence-informed change in mental health where it’s needed most.

Bring Up Respect

Stop it at the Start aims to help break the cycle of violence by encouraging adults to reflect on their attitudes, and have conversations about respect with young people.

The campaign is aimed at parents and family members of children aged 10–17, as well as the teachers, coaches, community leaders and employers of young people.

Since young people’s attitudes and behaviours are shaped by those around them, it’s important to expose them to positive influences where they live, work, learn and socialise. As adults, we need to recognise and reconcile our role as important influencers of the younger generation.
