NSW Health: Transport for Health

Transport for health provides a range of transport and travel assistance to people who cannot use or have difficulty using public and or private transport or who are disadvantaged by distance.  Transport for health includes the Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS).

NSW Poisons Information Centre

The NSW Poisons Information Centre is based at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

We are staffed by pharmacists and scientists, who are specially trained in providing poisons information. Our Centre also employs Clinical Toxicologists from around Australia who provide specialist expertise in the medical management of human poisoning and envenoming.

The NSW Users and AIDS Association (NUAA) is a peer-based drug user organisation that is governed, staffed and led by people with lived experience of drug use. Our vision statement is “Advancing the rights, health and dignity of people who use drugs illicitly in NSW”.

We are funded by NSW Health for service delivery with a focus on harm reduction and community empowerment. Our flagship programs include our peer-led NSP, Users News, peer education and support, stigma and discrimination training for health care professionals and DanceWize NSW.

Nutrition Australia is an independent, member organisation that aims to promote the health and wellbeing of all Australians. 

Official Visitors Program

Official Visitors are people with experience in mental health treatment and care. They are appointed by the Minister for Mental Health and are independent from NSW Health.

Parkinson’s Australia

Parkinson’s Australia is the national advocacy body representing people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers, researchers and health professionals in the Parkinson’s community.

​We promote the best possible quality of life for people with Parkinson’s.  We advocate for the Parkinson’s community on issues of national significance. We work to reduce the impact of Parkinson’s by promoting best practice care to ensure that people can maximise their opportunities to live well and maintain their independence.
